Hello, Everyone! Thank you for entering the October 1-2, 2011 CPE trial hosted by AgileDogs Agility Training. This is your entry confirmation. Your individual entry confirmation will come in a separate email later today. Please be sure to look at it closely and let me know of any errors or move ups. We have 169 dogs entered for 526 runs on Saturday and 530 runs on Sunday, and will be taking day of show entries, so tell your friends to come!

We are going to do our best to move the trial along efficiently while making sure everyone has a safe and successful run and gets their time in the ring. Walk throughs will be timed at 8 minutes all weekend long. We will be counting on our volunteers (thank you so, so much!) to help make the weekend go smoothly. Please listen to both the general briefing in the morning and the judge’s class briefings for ways we can make the trial run more efficiently.

Awards:

Perfect weekend rosettes will be awarded to teams achieving Q’s in all 10 runs.

Run Throughs Friday Afternoon:

We will have run throughs on a CPE standard course, 2 levels nested, $5 for the first run, $3 for each additional run of the same dog; each dog will get 2 minutes in the ring. Toys may be used, but please no treats since we’ll be using the ring for the trial the whole weekend long. Dogs should be comfortable on equipment; no other pre-requisites to come and play! No pre-registration required.

Walk throughs will begin at 4 pm, first dog on the line at 4:30. We'll rotate through jump heights and have subsequent walk throughs. Run throughs will end at or around 7 PM.

If you'd like to volunteer to help with run throughs, please contact Trisha at trisha@agiledogs.net. Volunteers will get 2 free runs in the run throughs for helping out. Jobs include taking money, facilitating the running order, setting bars, and running leashes. Volunteers must help for at least an hour to get their free runs. Thank you!

There will be NO measuring of dogs AFTER the Judges Briefing begins each day – ALL DOGS WITHOUT A PERMANENT HEIGHT CARD MUST BE MEASURED before the Judges’ Briefing in order to show that day – THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

CATALOGS:

Only a few copies of the run catalog will be available at the trial. The catalog will be available for download and printing on Wednesday night at www.agiledogs.net

Volunteers:

The volunteer schedule will be posted on the AgileDogs website by Thursday. Thanks to all who volunteered!

Please do not worry about conflicts between classes you’re working and classes you’re running in. All workers will be accommodated. You can move your dog within a class to make sure you have time to concentrate on having a successful run with your 4-footed partner.

If your job for a given class is timer, scribe, assistant scribe, or gate steward, please report to the chief ring steward when the briefing for the class begins, so you can prepare for your job and so the judge can brief you if needed – thanks! If your job is anything not already mentioned, you can report any time before or during the walk through.

We are pleased to again have Pork n Jojo’s (a.k.a. Eric and Joanne Lapine), and they will be offering breakfast and lunch all weekend. Volunteers will get lunch tickets good at the food vendor.

MOVE-UPS - CLOSING DATE:

During the trial, move-ups in Standard will be taken at the show, and must be submitted to the Show Secretary before the completion of the last class of the day. Thank you for your cooperation.

The deadline for contacting the secretary with move ups or corrections before the trial is the end of day on Tuesday, September 27^th. Any changes to entries made after that date will be subject to a $5 service change fee.

DIRECTIONS TO TEST SITE

Shatford Park is located in New Lebanon, street address is just north of 14755 Route 22.

From the South: Take the New York State Thruway North to exit 21A, the "Berkshire Spur", and get off at exit B3 (Austerlitz/New Lebanon). * Follow signs for Route 22 North. Take Route 22 North for approximately 9 miles to the town of New Lebanon. At the red blinking light take a right to stay on Route 22 North. **About a mile later, take a left just before the boarded up Gas Station to stay on Route 22 North; go 3/4 mile, past New Lebanon Central School. You’ll see the park on the left. Go past the park and take a left after the New Lebanon Town Hall onto Old Post Road. Go 0.2 miles to the park entrance on the left.

From the West: Take the New York State Thruway to exit 24, Albany. Stay on I-90 (this is a no-toll section) until exit 11E, which is Route 20 East. Turn right onto 20 East, and follow it for approximately 17 miles; go straight through the blinking yellow light in New Lebanon. Follow directions from ** above.

From the North: Take Route 22 South. Go through the towns of Berlin and Stephentown. 1.8 miles after passing into Columbia County, take Old Post Road on the right (at the base of the hill). Be careful, as the road comes up on you quickly. Go 0.2 miles to the park entrance on the left.

From the East: Take the Mass Turnpike to the New York State line, where it becomes the New York Thruway. Take the very first exit in New York, Exit B3 (Austerlitz/New Lebanon), and follow directions from * above.
